I also agree and believe that art students mentioned in Freakanomics have much of the incentives. To be able to attend such an outstanding school is not only an honor by itself but also gives more motive for students to work even harder. I think plagiarizing in colleges are more severe due to the fact that if caught, one could expect the worse...getting kicked out of school or what not. Where it was in high school, a student getting caught may result in a meeting with the principle or suspended for a few days. But in college especially in one where students pay around 30k a year, I think people are more hesitant before they decide whether they would plagiarize or not, but of course there are those days where students just plagiarize unconsciously.
