Topic # 5
Incentives means the urge of people to do more of a good thing or less of a bad thing. For an art student not to plagiarize in their Compostion and Critical Thought class they must follow all the three basic incentive: economic, social, and moral. Plagiarizing is not allowed, and is something one must not due. Proffesors in every liberal class strongly talks about not plagerizing and the concequence that will follow. They are: the first warning, suspension, and then expelled from school. This is a strong economic incetive against plagiarizing. Then the social incentives comes in. If you are spotted plagarizing then your whole reputation falls apart, and people would start to talk about you. Rumors would start. If you are concerned about how people view you, then being caught plagariazing is something one should avoid. Lastly, the moral incentive should allow one to know that it is something wrong to do. Even if you want to do good in class, and have your work done quickly, thinking about all the concequences that follow plagarizim is not something happy. Especially if you are an art student, you should strongly feel plagiarizing morally wrong. As an artist, if someone steals your idea you wouldn't be happy at all. It's not a good feeling, then why should you do it yourself. Overall plagiarzing is wrong in every aspect. As an art student one must keep in mind all the three incentives and work to their best ability and knowlegde.
