topic #4

I guess what William Gibson is trying to say is that our culture does not associate with the very act of "appropriation" and "borrowing." We just take what we can get and use it for our own selfish desires. Gibson is saying that every man is for himself. Plagiarizing, stealing ideas, pirating, etc. are all the same thing because they involve the act of stealing other's creation. I agree with Gibson's views because many people are never going to stop at finding easy ways to make money or live life. But what can we do about this "issue" but to sit here and contemplate on it? No one can stop this anomaly. As an artist, I just have to live with it and watch my own back.
