Topic #3

"If life ain't just a joke, then why are we laughing?" 'Dead!'
- I think this line pretty much puts a whole perspective on life into one simple sentence. Maybe I'm just cynical, but I agree with this viewpoint. Besides, if you're not laughing either about or with life, then it must be terribly boring and you're probably taking yourself way too seriously.

"Once, she had me on my knees, enamoured with disease. Now, she fails to impress a different kind of sickness, a different kind of sickness: lacking any interest." 'She is the New Thing'
- There's two kinds of "illnesses" in this part: love (sort of) and apathy. It's pretty much about how you feel like you "love" that person, but then you come to find that you don't because you've gotten tired of them. Being apathetic can cause problems sometimes because people feel like you don't care about them when sometimes you do, and then it does feel a bit like a disease because you can't quite get rid of it.
